Hi everyone.

I have had Reflux /GERD for the past 7 years, causing voice/throat problems and breathing problems along with the stomach etc.
Took large doses of Ranitidine, Gaviscon and PPI's, plus scans etc. and diet.....
Nothing worked that well, just eased the problem a bit.

4 Weeks ago before I went on holiday I had a bad gastritis & oesophagitis.
So bad that I went to see the Doc.

After a long chat she decided to check my blood. ......Loads of tests.

On my return there was a prescription waiting for me.

My bloods showed an H. pylori infection.

Now I'm on a large dose of 2 antibiotics & PPI's.

One antibiotic gives me a foul taste in my mouth .... but I'm willing to try anything.

While on holiday I chatted with a lady who said she had the same problem for years, she even had a couple of scopes every year.
A blood test found she had H. pylori, she had the antibiotics etc, and now several years later she is still well, and with no reflux / GERD.

I'll let you know how I get on..............................

PS.. I did some research on H. pylori, I found it very interesting.

When I first got sick I was diagnosed with Bacteria H too. Along with gastritis, esphogitis and GERD. I was sick, sick. I did get better but have continued to have LPR problems. I wish you the best and hope that clears up all your symptoms!

My blood also showed -pylori but was negative in the endoscopy. My docter told me if it is negative in the endoscopy you don;t have it. Well how are the treatment working for you so far? I also asked to be treated for it as well and was refused. I have the breathing problems as well.

Hi,

So far so good. Except for one antibiotic, its causing the most awful
taste in my mouth.
Am continuously taking tiny amounts from a jar of jam , anything to reduce this taste.

I have noticed I dont feel the presence of my stomach any more.
My abdomen feels easy. Maybe its wishful thinking. ...........

The lady I spoke of on my holiday, she also had a negative scope/biopsy for H pylori.
So keep on at the Doc, or try another one.

I had the breath test for h-pylori wich is supposed to be the best thing and it came back negative as well. They said that the blood can come back positive on everyne and still you do not have it. I went to 6 different gastro docters and they all say the same thing i don;t no anymore.
