I'm taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and there are 28 pills, however I only have a 26 day cycle. The last pills I guess are just placebo pills so should I just take all 28 pills and then start a new pack the Sunday after my period, or just not take the last two pills and start a new pack on the first day of my period?
you should just take the last two pills then start a new pack. The pill is designed to give you three weeks of active pills and one week of placebos, this mimics a cycle but sinse the pill stops ovulation there is no real cycle, the period that you get on the pill is just from withdrawl of hormones. when I was on OTC I always got my period 4 days into my hormone free week but I continued with out hormones for the rest to the week. The one time I took less than 7 days of placebos was when I changed from a sunday start to a friday start. I got my period on wed. and started my new pack on friday just for that month to change my start day and I had quite a bit of breack through bleeding that month. Moral of the story take your pills the way it says to in the pakage insert and don't mess with it.
