How to Use Birth Control

Once you have started a pack and you get your period there are no sugar pills so when do you start the new pack again...is it 7 days after your period?

Re: How to Use Birth Control

As far as I know, you start the new pack when the old pack is gone.

Re: How to Use Birth Control

If you have a 21 day pack then usually you wait 7 days then start the new pack. BCP's usually come with 28 pills, the last 7 pills have no hormones in them and are just there as reminders, some pills dont include these reminder pills and only have 21 pills per pack and then you would wait 7 days to start the next pack. Still you could be on a pill that works differently that I don't know of. what is the name of your pill? didn't it come with instructions? if not a pharmasist or your doctor would be good people to ask. I recomend reading the pamphlet that comes with your pill thoroughly it should explain all this as well as important information about serious side effects of the pill (blood clots, etc.) and the symptoms of those side effects.
