Bacterial vaginosis

Hi All, I am new to this whole site because I am seeking some help on the Bv issue! I have had recurring infections for over 1 year and I have been on everything from Flagil, to Clindamycin, Terconazole cream and now going to begin using the Metro gel. I seem to get the infection every other month! My husband also was treated twice. Right now I just ended my period and was told to do the Metrogel. I also heard of Relegard gel. Has anyone tried these and are there any success stories on it. Also, I assume no sex during this time period?

Re: Bacterial vaginosis

Douching with povidone iodine solution each day for two week, then once a week, will keep the infection at bay.

It is avaliable as "Summers Eve", or you can buy a big bottle of betadine, and dilute it 1 part with 20 parts water, and douch with it

Re: Bacterial vaginosis

i don't know if you should douche, that could really throw off the balance. When I was once diagnosed with BV the doctor asked if I used a lot of the smelly shower gels. Do you? She was noticing a lot of problems with that (I wonder if it may just be the poofs). I don't bathe, just showers, but I would guess bathing can be a cause.
