Thumbs down Dr. lied about recovery time

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board and I have found it very helpful. I had a bunionectomy with osteotomy on August 28, and unfortunately I didn't ask to many questions from my Dr. I guess when I was at the office I was really nervous. I was originally told I would be able to drive after 3 wks. I have two young children that I have to chauffer to school every day and I have been depending on others to do that for me. I am on crutches and can't get around very well on those. I am a danger to myself and others with those things. Anyway, I can tell everyone is getting tired of doing things for me and I guess I just want to talk to someone who understands what I am going through. I went back to Dr. a few days ago and now he tells me that it's going to be 6 wks. before I can walk. To anyone who is thinking of surgery, please ask a lot of questions. I sure learned the hard way.
