Post don't they actually remove the bone for bunion surgery?

my doc said today that they just shave a little off the big bunion but moving the bone at the bottom will straighten the toe out?? does this sound right?

Hi Cind,
The bunion surgery that I had done consisted of the bunion being shaved, the bone between the bunion and big toe was fractured to align the big toe. Underneath my skin is a "clip" to keep toe in place.
Does that help answer your question? You surgery is scheduled soon, isn't it? Is it next week?

Hi Cind,
Anxiety before your surgery is normal and to be expected. I was actually more nervous in those days, weeks leading up to the surgery and then on the day of the surgery. On the day of the surgery I just was thinking "ok, let's get on with this and get it over"
I know its a cliche but, you will do good. Please keep us posted on your recovery, ok?
I'll be thinking about you.
