Angry athlete's foot = swollen lymph node in groin area..

Hi~new to this, so here goes. Have suffered from athlete's foot for years~my feet sweat a lot. When it's really bad I get a swollen lymph node right on my bikini line. It goes away with foot spray treatment, but this time it's taking a while. Lymph node is very painful to the touch, and seems like a big pimple that won't pop. Gross, I know but.... Anyone know of any ideas to make a swollen lymph node go down any faster? Do Dr.s ever remove a lymph node for this reason? Thought I'd get some feedback before calling my Doc. Thanks in advance.

You need to go to your doctor and have that looked at. It could be a sign of something else.

Cool

I had the same exact thing as you. No worries! Your lymph nodes in your groin are doing there job. I went to my doc for the same thing. I was freakin "oh my god I have cancer". Nope just atheletes foot. If you have a prolonged peroid of atheletes foot the lymphnodes can swell in the groin. The doc said they can take a while to go down after swelling. Just dont mess with them. No pushing or checking just leave them alone otherwise theyll start hurting. According to my doc give lumps and bumps 3-4 weeks if they don't go down then come in and see him. Also keep in mind they can take longer. I hope I was helpfull.

Wink

Thanks Snowrider356. I actually went to the Dr. yesterday afer work & she seemed to think it wasn't a lymph node, but then again she had also never heard the athlete's foot/lymph node theory. She said to leave it alone & put hot compresses on it & it would probably either go down or pop. Either way good to know it's nothing but just annoying. And yes, you were helpful, thanks. : )
