ADHD 10 y/o daughter

My 10 y/o ADHD daughter was most recently on Strattera and it seemed to work for over a year. Suddenly she is acting out so badly she has been suspended from school 2 times. Dr. has changed her to concerta, but we have to wean off of strattera before starting concerta. Has anyone just stopped Strattera without weaning? Dr. said it would not be harmful, but might make her feel funny. I am not sure which is worse, her feeling funny for a short time, or me losing my mind because she is acting out so badly!
Any suggestions?

Re: ADHD 10 y/o daughter

Sorry you're going thru this. I have a 10 yo dd on Concerta and we're still tweaking things to find the "magic dose." If you want to try to go without, and it's truly not harmful, I'd definitely do it only going into the weekend, so you can watch her more closely and even give a bit of Strattera if things get too rough.

Hopefully, someone who really knows what he/she is talking about with Strattera will come along shortly. I know just enough to probably be dangerous.

Good luck--I know how tough it is...

Thank you for the reply! I have decided to taper the Strattera more quickly, so that I can give her her first dose of concerta on Sunday and keep an eye on her!
