To help prevent them from getting larger you will want to wear support socks during the day to help increase your leg circulation. You can find support socks in better department stores or in medical catalogs. Be sure to put them on before you get out of bed to help prevent the blood from staying pooled in your lower legs and forming a blood clot. You should also elevate your legs when possible either by putting the up when you lay down or use a foot stool. Do not cross your legs and be sure to wear shoes with good support.

Also if you smoke, quitting will help too.

I think that, since you are having such a big problem with this now,and you are only 19, you inherited this from your mom, and NOTHING you do will change this.

My doctor JUST told me yesterday in fact, that we all start aging at the age of 14. HOW SAD:~(
Good luck

Dear Von

Really sorry to hear about your veins. I know how hard it is to deal with that sort of stuff at your age.
But don't get to upset, I know in Australia there are (almost) painless spider vein removals. Vericose veins can just be injected (as long as you catch them early-I know I just had it done in my doctors office at low cost!) Rather than having to go through the old fashioned 'stripping' technique (and time in hospital)
I am sure you are a very beautiful person, don't worry too much, there is always help available.

Jules

As you are so young, I would suggest that you go and see an ND and get some help with alternative therapies. There are lots of good homeopathic remedies that can really help with varicose veins and as you are so young, alternative remedies could stop them developing in the first place.

You can look up an ND in your area in the phone book or on the internet.

Good luck
