looking for some other opinions

I have a Gyno appointment tomorrow, a 3 month follow up after starting a new BC; Levora 28. I switched from Yasmin b/c I was paying near full price, and even though it worked amazingly for me, I just couldn't afford it anymore. So my doctor switched me to one she said was similar and cheaper.

I'm debating trying another new pill. Why, you ask? While I'm not having a horrible experience with it, I am experiencing side effects that I'd rather now be. Like; • constant moodies/emotional (prior to BC I would become extremely emotional/depressed. Yasmin helped tremendously with that. Levora seems to have made me mildly emotional/sensetive but now on a daily basis. So it's not unbareable, yet its still annoying) • Breast tenderness - sore/tender all the time and worsens during PMS where prior to this brand I'd only get mildly sore during my period and the final and most annoying side effect •*low sex drive/decreased sensetivity; before Levora I had a pretty active sex drive and, at the risk of TMI, I never had a tough time reaching an orgasm or two. Now, I could care less if I have sex, and when my boyfriend and I do I feel like I'm fighting for climax!

So I'm here asking.. what would you do if it was you? Are these side effects bad enough to switch or bareable? Should I look at it as, "well it could be worse, so why risk it?" I know that only I can answer that.. just thought it wouldn't hurt to hear some oppinions.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Re: looking for some other opinions

hey. have you considered getting an iud? the copper one has no hormones, so you wouldnt have to deal with the side effects. i just stopped yaz 2 days ago, since i started getting a bunch of side effects as well. and i figured it cant be good to be putting chemicals into your body. i will be getting the iud soon, and from what i have heard it works quite well for many women. just something you can look into if you dont want to deal with the hormones... cus in my opinion, we shoudlnt have to be dealing with those side effects... even if they dont seem that bad

Re: looking for some other opinions

I agree that we shouldnt have to deal with negative side effects at all.. if only that were possible!!

I've heard the opposite about IUD; that it's horrible and that people have had a hard time conceiving after ending use of an IUD. I don't know.. different things work for different people I suppose.

I guess the only thing I can do is discuss all options with the doctor and get her oppinion.

Thanks for the reply!!
