Re: has anyone had problems with acne while taking bc ortho try-cylen or Retin-A??!!!

Starting a new bcp can cause acne. It will take ~3 months for your hormones to normalize, and you may experience acne during that time. Likewise, Retin-A almost always causes an initial breakout. Please read the instruction pamphlet that came with the tube-- it should state that it will take 8-12 weeks to be effective. I'd suggest waiting 3-4 months with these new medications before switching to something else. Additionally, I'd ask for an antibiotic (like Minocycline) to get you through this rough period. Good luck!
