Friend in need

My friend has HBP. He also has frequent anxiety attacks, headaches, chest pain, and hard to catch his breathe. He was in the hospital for a week and they have tried 4 different BP meds so far. No heart problems noticed.
They told him to not eat salt so his diet consist of nothing hardly, maybe turkey.
What can I do to help him or advice to give him. He has no insurance so Dr. visits are limited.

Some of us do get anxiety solely from hypertension. They even tried paxil on me at one point, and it was definitely not the answer. Is your friends BP under control now? Are they using an ACE inhibitor first, then adding a beta-blocker to it. I found that the effect of the beta-blocker can, for certain people like me, remove the anxiety. This effect was also noticed years ago when Ziac 5.0/6.25 was added to my ACE inhibitor at that time.
