Post Pulse Rate/Rapid Heart Rate

What should be the average pulse rate be per minute?
Mine is about 110 beats per minute. Is this normal?

Hi kdeese,

I have been having trouble with my heart rate since having a hysterectomy in May...at rest it is usually around 90. My doctor told me that a "normal range" is 60-70 - he said his is 45. I've read tho that normal can be anywhere in the 60-80 range. I think that with yours being 110 you should definitely get it checked out. Does yours "pound" really strong so that you notice it most of the time? MIne does - and sometimes I wake up at night and it seems to be going crazy - like doubling over...and it will take me hours to get back to sleep. Anyways, I think you should see a doctor because prolonged rapid heart rates can cause complications. Good luck.

84 isn't too bad and within a normal range. 110 is a little high for resting. For women it is usually 80 and men tend to run much lower like 70. Sometimes just getting back in shape by excersising will lower the heart rate. The best way to tell your resting heart rate is before you even get out of bed in the morning, that is the real resting hr. Have your watch with the second hand by your bedside so all you have to do is grab the watch then count.
