Question New Med, Lotrel..... any advice?

My cardiologist decided the Norvasc wasn't enough, so he put me on Lotrel. I have only been on it for 2 days, but it has really lowered the BP... thats the good part, on the other hand, it gives me extreme anxiety.

Will this pass? Anyone been on Lotrel????

Same here, I was on 5mg, then 10Mg norvasc a it was doing to much. I'm on Lotrel 5/20 and HCT (hydroclorothiazide) 25 Mg and and my BP it preety well under control. It really takes about 2 weeks for it to kick in and the first week or so I had some side effects (headaches, dizziness). I've been on it from about 6 months and I average 130/80 now around dinner time or 127/75ish at lunch. I'm happy with it. I do suffer from axiety also so my doctor addressed that with Paxil and it sucked-bad side effects and bad withdrawal. I'm on Lexapro and what a difference! GOOD LUCK and hang in there for a few weeks with the Lotrel till the intial side-effect go away.

Back again! The Lotrel work really well for lowering my BP, BUT I had to quit because of the cough-it took a while to develop and it got bad. I'm on dilitiazem and HCT now.
