high blood pressure

I am taking 20mg of atenolol or tenormen for HBP. I have developed a dry hacking cough. I have heard that some HBP meds can do this. It is especially bad at night. Do not have GERD tho. Does anyone know about coughs and HBP meds??????

Some of the BP meds will cause a dry cough. Check with your doctor and try a different med. My husband had problems with one med but another worked without the cough.

I was on Lotensin but it caused dry cough..so Dr. switched me to BENICAR and I am doing fine as far as no dry cough. My BP is still high though. Adding more medicines to bring it down.
