Post HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (HYPERBALANCE)

Hello All,

I just found this message board tonight (12/02/02). I just read an article on Hyperbalance. I was wondering if anyone out there had some experience with this "herbal" medication? Does anyone have any experience with Norvasc the HBP medication?

I was just recently placed on Norvasc for my high blood pressure. I was on Monopril before Norvasc and on Atenalol before Monopril. I was doing great on Monopril but my insurance company will no longer pay for non-generic drugs. The Norvasc is making me anxious, interupting my sleeping and making me nauseous every other day in the evenings. I am trying to continue taking the medication hoping the side affects will eventually go away. I have been taking the Norvasc for one week.

To give you a little medical background I have had HBP since I was in my late teens but did not start treating it with medication until I was 27. I am 6.0' and weigh 270 lbs.. I know I sound over weight for my height but I am really only about 15-20 lbs. over weight. I have a very large muscle/skeletal frame. I know losing the extra 15-20 lbs. will improve my blood pressure but it easier said than done.

Any input would be greatly appreciated on either subjects Hyperbalance/Norvasc.

Thanks
Bryson

I think it might work. I was down 15 points last night. That was one pill. I will give you numbers as I continue to take it. One reading is of course no measure at all. Diastolic fell 106 to 91. Systolic stayed at 160.

This treatment is suppused to take 3 weeks so as I said, I can report more later.

Hyperbalance is based on chinese herbal medicine. I am looking for my reasearch and can't find it at the moment. At any rate, one of the herbs is Uncaria rhynchophilla (Chinese cat's clay [not the Brazillian type]) and it is r-e-a-l-l-y hard to find. It looks like this person has done their homework.

It looks like I am down about 10 points in 4 days on just one tablet. (Two are recommended).

My normal 160 / 99.

Day sys dy

0 163 102
1 167 91
2 153 92
3 160 86
4 144 92 (I think this one invalid - just ran
(3 miles and pulse still at 85 )

Side effects very interesting - none so far - it doesn't even slow running like ace inhibitors.

How's the progress with Hyperbalance? I talked to my dr. about it yesterday (he's a naturopathic type doctor) and he thought it would work. He's ordered some for me to try.
