Metformin

I have been on medications for over 5 years. About a year ago I stopped taking avandia and have been on Metformin. The diarhea is a real nuisance and I am always tired and listless. I take an imodium every evening. I also do not have good readings with this med. I am never under 140 fasting in the morning.
Any similar reactions and or ideas.

Re: Metformin

That is a side effect that nabs some people. You should tell your doctor. You also need to be drinking lots of water. When that happens, it dehydrates you. Its important to stay hydrated, so when that is in effect, you need to rehydrate yourself with water

Re: Metformin

Hello.............I took the Metformin for 3 months and even though the side effects lessened they were a problem for me......... gas and unexpected diarrhea. My Doctor switched me to Janumet and it agrees with me 100%. Even though it has Metformin in it I have not had one stomach problem....
It is expensive but my Insurance pays for it.........

I travel for work and am on a plane alot........sorry gas and diarrhea just wasn't working out for me........

Also I had extreme hunger on the Metformin and do not have that at all on Janumet.

You might want to talk to your Doctor about it..........Janumet

Re: Metformin

Thank you. That is not one I've heard of. I will talk to him about it for me.
