Post Norvasc 5mg

Went for my weekly BP check up and my BP was 158/104. This is what I call normal for me however Doc says no.
Mind you I am down from 180/140 so I am pleased with the results thus far. They just put me on a 4th medication today they added NORVASC 5mg a day. What can I expect with this new med? Anyone taking Norvasc?

I take hydrochlorothiazide, 50mg Toprol-XL, 20mg of Benicar and 5mg norvasc.

I was told to take 40mg of Benicar and I did for a couple days but it made me really sick so they put me back to 20mg of Benciar.

RRR,
(kind of long, sorry...)

I was on norvasc for about a year (5mg). There are long term effects. I always felt extremely tired, quite often depressed too. I skipped going to the dr. mainly for monetary reasons, I was going every 1 - 2 months. I was finally down to the final refill, so I had to call the drs. ofc. to have them call in another rx for me, shortly thereafter, one of the drs. called me, and asked when I was coming in for an appt., so I made one and my b/p was up- I think it was something like 149/92. They put me on a new b/p med, lotrel 10/20, one of the ingredients is norvasc. I took it for about 3 months, I had to stop taking it, it's too expensive. It made me feel 10X worse than before anyway.
I personally feel that most drs. hawk the more expensive meds to make money from the drug manufacturers, and I agree that drs. are quacks and pill pushers...(most, anyway)

BlueBee- What medication are you taking now? I'm curious to know if the doctor gave you something else and if so, how are you doing ?

I've been taking Norvasc for a few years now and it has never bothered me except for occatioally getting light headed but that doesn't last for more than a few seconds. Everyone reacts different from medication. Your doctors only trying to find out what's right for you. Just try what he recomends and if you have any problems report them to him. You might have a bad reaction but if it's not too bad give it a chance.
