Feeling of Nausea

Hello,

Ok here's the situation:

Dec. 3rd I believe I did have the flu as I woke up that morning feeling nauseas and did vomit that morning(the only time I did) and had the body ache/headache/chills/etc. I stayed home and in bed that whole day and the next(tues) and drank fluids/had soup, etc. And on the 3rd day I felt a whole lot better and went to my classes that I had to go to as it was crucial to go since it was the week before finals.

Everything was fine, until Dec. 19th when I felt the same way( nausea) but none of the other symptoms, but this time I would gag(possibly dry heave would be a name for it?) and nothing would come up. I was still able to eat and keep all the food down. I felt that way all the way up until Christmas Day where it gradually started to subside, but to be cautious I went to an Urgicare center as my primary doctor was on vacation for the whole week of Christmas. The doctor there checked things out, andsaid it could be a number of things namely stress from the holidays/school also combined with the fact that my eating habits were extremely horrible(I admit they were, as I was eating only one meal a day, and probably on the other end having too much caffenine as I would have multiple sodas and cups of coffee in a single day, with the one meal). I was then told by that doctor to eat better and see if that does cause the nausea to subside.

I followed the doc's orders and have started eating better and I'd say up until Wednesday I was feeling slighly better each day, but I feel as it is coming back again. I wake up everyday wondering if I'm going to feel awful again, or whether it will be a better day, and this just causes me to freak out as I do not know what is wrong with me.

I AM seeing my primary doctor tomorrow(friday) and I thought I would just pop in here, as to see if there is anything that I should prepare/brace myself for tomorrow as what could be causing this. Any immediate help would be truly appreciated. Thank you all for reading my long message.

Re: Feeling of Nausea

unfortunetly.there are soo many possible reasons for the types of symptoms you keep having that it would really be pretty impossible at this point to give you any real hard info on what this could be that is triggering the ongoing symptoms.this doesn;t sound like actual 'flu' tho.real 'classic'flu is the headache and body aches/chills and this just total complete fatigue that nails you, usually pretty suddenly.you could be actually just eating something too that is not agreeing with you since these episodes appear to be very spaced out from one another.its going to take some detective work by your doc with just testing and ruling out different possibilities based on results of things like bloodwork and other types of tests to try and pinpoint the trigger.seeing your doc is probably the best possible thing you can be doing at this point.sorry i couldn't help you further with this, but like i said, the symptoms just could be stemming from such a huge range of possibilities ya know?please let me know just what you find out,K?good luck, hopefully it wont take too long to find the reason. Re: Feeling of Nausea

I appreciate the reply!
I'm back from the doctor, and the doctor felt it was too much stomach acid, which in turn resulted from the stress/bad eating habits/and made worse having the flu prior to feeling this way. I was given samples, a 2-week supply of nexium(2 times a day) as well as another pill( once a day) though I don't remember the name off the top of my head though it starts with an x and I assume it also has to do with reducing the acid, and also a nasal spray as well.

So thankfully nothing extremely serious as I kept worrying myself with thinking it was a much, much more serious issue.
