Post Side effects of teveten/norvasc/hydrochlorothiazide

Been having problems with side effects , I was originally diagnosed with high bp several years ago and put on zestril/norvasc/hdrzide ended up with a dry hacking cough , so then I was switched to atenolol/norvasc/hdrzide and got more side effects like depression and 0% sex drive so I discontinued meds altogether for a couple of years , lost 40 pounds and stayed active and maintained a bp of 130/65 without meds and a proper diet.
Well several months ago my bp crept back up to 210/110 with severe headaches , surprisingly I didn't blow a gasket, anyway it's back on meds again. I'm taking teveten 600 mg /norvasc 5 mg/ hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg and have been feeling overly tired lately actually extremely tired is a more appropriate definition.
Was wondering if anyone else is on this same combination of meds and has noticed any side effects.

One or all of your meds could be the culprit... and the combo certainly can be exacerbating your fatigue and loss of libido.

here's a link to Medline's website (approved by the moderators to post here)...Good drug information, plus other links to health topics galore.:

Zuzu thanks for the link , I looked up teveten (eprosartan) and sure enough when it is combined with hydrochlorothiazide it can cause extreme fatigue. It sure seems like a difficult task to find a BP med that has minimal side effects , especially when the side effects seem to start several weeks or even months after initially starting on a prescription.

Finn,

I am reading zuzu's mind and she is just about to suggest that you talk to your doctor about ARB's like
Diovan or Benicar. She was going to tell you that they don't really have much / if any side effects.

Finn- I am reading Jay's mind- and he knows that I know that he knows that I know that we are die-hard ARB fans.....

Yes, do speak to your doctor about this class of drugs (angiotensin 2 receptor blockers)....

And Jay-
I want your next boat to be named after me!

As always,
I remain,
Your alter ego,
