Minocycline

I have been using minocycline for 3 months now and for the past week I have been only taking one pill versus two to try and ween myself off it but now I have one spot that is now inflamed- could that be because of the mino?

Re: Minocycline

Is it giving you any side effects? It was prescribed for me but I didn't ever fill the prescription. Just trying to wash my face more often.

Re: Minocycline

I was on this for about a year. I was on the Depo shot and it triggered a really bad acne outbreak on my face & back - and it was like, 6 or 8 weeks before my wedding. The mino helped to clear it up so that I looked presentable for the big day

So what is the question? How to wean yourself off of it or is the one remaining spot from the mino?

If you're looking to discontinue it and not sure about cutting yourself off of it either in a timely manner or a correct manner, just call your doctor's office and speak with a nurse. Its free and theyll tell you what to do

Re: Minocycline

The only side effects I have had with it was nausea and that subsided after 3 days of using it. I have been using it in combination with differin so I don't know if its the differin or the mino that brought a few spots out. Then again, the spots that did come were only three and they are already starting to go away a lot faster then when I first started- I just saw a derm and she wanted me to stay on the same thing for awhile longer. I guess my question was since I am stopping mino is that bringing out new pimples? Also- I have red spots from leftover from spots I got so I am hoping those go away with time. I don't mind the red spots as much as I hate getting new pimples!~

Re: Minocycline

My son 18 went down to 1 a day to wean off as well. He got a breakout and went back to twice a day. He is so concerned about stopping, but I have a call into the derm because I'm concerned he's been on it too long (over 2 years).
