Post Help

I posted on the heart forum as well, but thought that this would be better...I recently quit smoking about 4 months ago and once I stopped my pulse rate went down...resting heart rate anywhere from 45-60 and blood pressure usually around 100/60...well, I have been very sick with a sinus infection that has settled in my chest and coughing alot and for stress related reasons I have been smoking again. Now that I have started smoking again my resting heart rate is anywhere from 80-120 and my blood pressure has gone up a bit from 110/80 to 120/92.

Do you think that my heart rate and blood pressure has gone up a bit because of being sick and smoking again?

Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Sara

Hi Sara,
The short answer is yes. That makes perfect sense.

Your BP is not that high though. On the 120/92 reading did you take it sitting down (after sitting for several minutes)? Also, did you take it 2-3 times.

My (and almost everyone's) BP can vary quite a bit.
