Dreams disturb my sleep

I believe this is a health issue. I won't go into detail but I have severe dreams/nightmares (will elaborate further if someone wants to know).

deleted

I have had many dreams, remember most.

I am aware I am dreaming but still am kinda asleep but can't wake myself up or move. Very scared.

Any insight? So tired of crazy sleep! Thanks.

Re: Dream Interpretation...

Hi! I have many vivid dreams and nightmares until a few years back where I would be in a government building with pinball machines made out of human organs!

Anyhow, you did mention how your life is in general yet when you are under alot of stress or have symptoms of Post-Tramatic stress disorder, it can manifest by having nightmares.

I know that people who have Bipolar or Anxiety conditions have very vivid and nightmarish dreams.

Its good to assess your overall life history and post on the boards. You can also post in the Mental Health section, that's a good place to start...

Take good care!

Re: Dream Interpretation...

Thanks Nexus. I am diagnosed with PTSD and Anxiety/Panic disorder. I have had issues with sleep since a kid. My sister has Bipolar and Boderline Personality. There is also a strong family history of mental illness. I had Post-Partum Depression which eventually led to Post-Partum Psychosis. That was HELL for 2 years! My son is now 6 1/2 so it was many years ago. I have never been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

The nightmares are just hellish. I wake up so tired. I will start posting on the mental health board, thanks for the suggestion. I go to a psychologist and psychiatrist but it hasn't helped with the dreams actually sometimes it makes it worse. And I do resort to drinking at times so I can just pass out then I don't dream that way or at least I don't remember them. I know that is totally bad, I am getting help for that but eventually I cave in. Thanks for your help.

Re: Dream Interpretation...

Hi!

I know that some anti-depressant drugs can cause nightmares.

There was one friend who said that when he was on the "Nicorette" patch, he was having crazy, vivid dreams.

Just alittle tid bit yet, now there's what is called Bipolar 2 condition. I heard that people who have constant cycle of depression and anxiety can have this condition. You don't necessarily have to have a manic state.

Always make sure your psychologist or psychiatrist know what is bothering you at the appointment.

If you can, please get a sleep study done. For years and most of my life I couldn't breathe well and end up with a bad sleep rhythm. I found out later I had a very clogged sinus and had a laser therapy....

I can sleep so much better!

Keep posting and you will find little by little answer to things that you or the doctor may not have thought of...

Please take care and the best with your little boy...

Thanks for your reply. I definitely don't have manic episodes. Maybe I could be Bipolar 2???? I am not on any antidepressants as they increase my anxiety. Maybe I do need a sleep study.
