Question For Flamaest

Hi,
I noticed in a couple of your earlier posts/replies that you indicated you had had trouble with any meds containing HCT. What kinds of problems did you have? Did you have an electrolyte imbalance?

I was started on Diovan HCT (smallest dose of both) and took for about 2 weeks then started developing fatigue, weakness and shakiness. Had my electrolytes tested and they were fine though. I see my doctor tomorrow. In the meantime, she told me to stop the Diovan HCT and temporarily go back to the Maxzide I had originally been taking, which hadn't lowered my bp enough which is why she started me on the Diovan HCT.

I'm wondering if the HCT component could have caused any of what I was feeling.

Are you doing okay on the Diovan 160? Is that your only med right now?

Let me know when you have a chance. Thanks!

-Beth

doing great.. thank you..

Yes, the HCT will cause those side effects..

fatigue, weakness and shakiness

Even the smalled dosage floored me badly..

Usually, upi should try Diovan without HCT first.. if that does not cause vloating, then you have to use the HCT version..
