Whats the best OTC allergy meds?

Ok well i am allergic to my 2 wonderful kittys and i was taking prescription meds from the allergist but it just got too expensive for me. I have been off of them for about a year now. I know i was taking allegra-D 24hr and nasacort i believe for the spray. I have so far tried sudifed (sp?) and Claratin. These meds have help but not great; i actually stopped taking them because they werent worth it. So what im wondering what is the best over-the-counter med for a nasal spray because i think thats what is lacking here. Even when i was on prescription what helped most way the spray. I would appreciate it if anyone who has any suggestions please let me know! Thank you!

Zyrtec will be OTC on Jan 24...it will probably still be a little pricey but you can order from Canada (called Cetirizine) OTC VERY cheaply now.

Re: Whats the best OTC allergy meds?

Unfortunately, none of the anti-inflammatory (steroid) nasal sprays are available over-the-counter. One of them - Flonase (Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray) - is now available as a generic (but still prescription) so if you have insurance you may be able to get it for much less now (it's only been available as a generic since February of 2006).
