estrogen dominance @ 53

I have been on estrogen (vivelle patch) for years and have not been able to find a progestrone that doesn't make me feel like a space cadet. I have tried Combi Patch, Prometrium, Aygestine, various birth control pills. Every time I try to introduce progestrone into my system I end up being space out, mental fog, and dizzy. Today I am going to try the new Climara Pro.
My doctor said there is an IUD type device with progestrone that would be inserted into my uterus and would not have a systemic reaction. Has anyone heard of this and is it true that there are no side effects from it? Also, is it possible to use Viville with a natural progestrone?

Re: estrogen dominance @ 53

Did you get a Saliva test ?

There are other ways to reduce estrogen, progesterone is not always the answer. If your doctor does not know this, find another who understands the complex balancing act required. If you are in a fog, it could be your progesterone is already too high and you are actually over dosing. Bad news sweety. Get your hormones checked:

Progesterone
Testosterone
Estrogen
DHEA
Cortisols (4x)

I couldn't understand why the Doc didn't suggest reducing the estrogen. All I know is I have been progestrone about 8 trys and each time I end up feeling like hell for over a week. For me prescription progestrone is toxic. I plan to call the doc on Monday and tell him I just can't handle another round of progestrone and that I would like to start cutting back on the estrogen. If he doesn't listen, I will have to move on and find a doc who will listen.
