If you are coughing because it feels like your voice box or
windpipe are irritated, that could be explained by reflux.

Not sure why, but it is annoying.....I hate these illnesses....
I don't have the answer to it either -but I sure do have IT -- just started about two weeks ago. Feeling mucous running down my throat while eating, needing to clear my throat or even cough a bit while eating - the feeling continues about 1/2 to 1 hour after eating. It is AWFUL and very frustrating.... Hope we find the answer....
I have PND and use Allegra, Astelin and Flonase for it. I was on Protonix for years for reflux with coughing as my primary symptom. What finally worked for me was taking Prevacid twice a day.
If you aren't already familiar with it, you might search this board for LPR. It might give you some insight as to why you cough after eating. There are some really good posts on this topic.
