Question Question???

I am 26 yrs old

I had Asthma as a child, but seemed to outgrow it.

But recently i feel tight chested, and the need to take deep breaths which don't always feel as though I am succeding with, as in doesn't feel like i have got enough air in, so feel the need to keep on doing it. also feel the need to yawn and still get the same feeling with it.

I don't seem to have any other symptoms, and its normally @ a time when i am relaxed.

Could it be a sign of asthma returning? can it come back again?

thank you

Maisie

Re: Question???

Hi Maisie,

I am 34 - also had asthma as a child. It returned when I was 28 and that is EXACTLY how it returned for me. Chest tightness, difficultly breathing deeply. That is still how it is today - I am on Flovent (2) puffs (2) per day and Ventolin for rescue. I do not cough and I do not wheeze. I just get SEVERE chest tightness and have trouble breathing - A LOT... It is scary and I hate it.... Most people who hear do not believe that I have asthma because they cannot 'HEAR' it - but I FEEL IT...

Good luck to you - make an appointment with a Pulmonologist for a Lung Function Test - it will all be ok

Re: Question???

Your welcome - I really hope you feel better SOON!!

Another thing to look into Acid Reflux/GERD - this can cause breathing problems like what you are experiencing as well and is very treatable with medicine and diet changes!
