ear and neck pain with multinodular goiter and graves disease diagnosis

Eight months ago I was diagnosed with graves disease. I was placed on Tapazole and Inderol. For the past month I have been bothered with neck pain and an ear ache. Needle Bx was done two wks ago. I don't have the results. Get those next week. How reliable are fine needle bx results on a multinodular goiter? Why is my neck and ear hurting if this is benign which by all indications I am told it is. Endocrinologist recommends ablation after needle results are found to be negative. Will this stop the ear aches? I saw an ENT doc for the bx and he was not concerned about the ear ache or neck pain. Guess this is common?

Re: ear and neck pain with multinodular goiter and graves disease diagnosis

I have one node that is still growing. I have Hashi's. I get nasty ear aches and neck pain.. but my node is small about 1 cm^3. The pain is periodic and corresponds to my throat hurting. My ENT says this is thyroiditis flares due to antibody attack on the thyroid. This flare causes the thyroid to swell and pinch nerves resulting in the pain. He just tells me to take alieve or naproxen sodium with tylenol. I wish I had a better answer for you.
