Nausea

Does anyone here have nausea as their presenting symptom of anxiety? I have other symtoms as well, feeling keyed up and on edge, feeling shaky, etc. but my main symptom (and sometime my only symptoms) is nausea. Of course, nausea makes me more anxious, so it becomes a viscious cycle. Do those of you with nausea, take something specific for the nausea, or do you take anxiety meds, and in turn, they decrease your nausea by reducing your anxiety?
Thanks!

Re: Nausea

i usually get nausea first then it blows up into an full panic attack.
i just started taking zoloft and klonopin...no change yet but i guess it takes awhile.

sometimes i'll just have nausea without the attack. i usually just swig some pepto bismal, put a heating pad on my stomach, and try to fall asleep.

your not alone! its normal.

Re: Nausea

Oh yeah, nausea is a big one for me (and I assume most people). I get it randomly and sometimes it's very overwhelming and can lead to full-blown panic. I don't take anything per se but I have had most organs checked out to rule out certain conditions (i.e. heart problems, gallbladder etc.)

Re: Nausea

Thank you both for replying. I actually had my gallbladder removed because the doctor was certain that that was the reason for my nausea...of course the nausea came back right after surgery! LOL
I have tried all sorts of meds, right now I am trying wellbutrin XL (I did well on the wellbutrin SR, but the doctor thinks this formualtion will be better). I also take ativan as needed. I was on paxil and had great results, but the weight gain was terrible.

Re: Nausea

a lot of people on this board take zoloft. i just started it so i cant tell you if it works or not. same with klonopin.

talk to your doc about trying different meds.
theres many to choose from!

Good luck and seriously try putting a heating pad on your stomach. haha. sounds crazy but it really relaxes me and i just lay down and take deep breaths. Or relax in a hot bath. getting your mind off the nausea might help.
