Post Chest pains...

I get these sharp pains in my chest several times a day and I don't know what they are. It's been going on for a long time now, and becoming more frequent. Usually it feels like its my heart, but sometimes it is on the left side or somewhere else in my chest. Does anyone know what it could be? I would really appreciate any help I could get.

Hi - welcome to the family of frustration! If your heart checks out okay, you can bet the docs will tell you it is related to anxiety! I know, I know. . . even if you don't feel that you have an "anxiety" issue, they will tell you that this is the cause! And, as hard as it is for me to admit this, it probably is the cause. I've been dealing with this stuff for three years now, combined with other symtoms too, like palps, tingling in left limbs, extreme sensitivies to certain foods like sugars, alcohol and caffeine. See a doctor to rule out anything serious. Good luck to you ~ Pam ~~

Hi, I was reading the posts here and I'm hoping this is what I have. Do you think it may be anxiety? I'm only 24 and have no known heart problems. Quite a few months ago I decided to take a weight-loss product with ephedrine. Well, I had heard that lots of people had a heart attack with it, so I was very scared taking it. And once I took the pill I started feeling stuff almost right away. I didn't know if it was just psychological because of being scared, to I just tried to not think about how my heart felt and tried to ignore it. Well, after 3 days I was too scared because of what I felt, so I quit. It happens very sporadically throughout the day, sometimes for 1 second, sometimes up to 5 or so seconds and I can feel it when my heart beats. It happens at rest. It feels like a pressure or pain (I'm not sure if it really hurts or not, but it's definitely not a good thing). So, a while after I stopped taking it the symptoms went away. So a few months later I decided to try a differnt product with the ephedrine. Same thing happened, so I stopped. Only this time those heart feelings kept up for about 5 months. I was really starting to thing it messed up my heart. Well, finally they stopped. Well, then I heard about Xenadrine EFX that has no ephedrine, it has green tea instead. So, I started taking them and felt nothing. Well, about 3 days later I found some post at this site saying that the bitter orange in it acts the same way that ephedrine does, which scared me. And within a half hour I started feeling those aweful things again. It seems so psychologiical, but yet what if I have a heart problem that maybe this stuff aggravates? I don't have health insurance and I don't want to spend hundreds getting tests if everything is fine. Do you think it maybe is anxiety? Sorry I rambled for so long.
