if there was a shot to cure or curb obs

The doctor I go to tells me that he used the smallpox vaccine on many of his clients that had Herpes with very good results, he is an older doctor and a good friend. Told me that when the vaccine comes back out that if It was him he would get several series of shots over a period of time. It seems to me that there is so much money being made on anti viral drugs that there could be a cover up on any thing that could cut profits of the drug companies. Has any one looked into when they took the vaccine off the market and if there were any recorded data as to any side affects to the shot on anyone. The government took the shot off the market so they say because they were afraid it could be used in germ warfare what if it was to line some ones pockets with money. My kids doctor has told us that all government officials and health care people have all ready been given the shot and soon it will be available to our kids. I would like to hear any thing anyone has to add to this subject.

The reason I made this post was because I think there really is a connection here. Surly someone would like to talk about this. Some of the questions I have are what year was the vaccine taken off the market. Was Herpes as wide spread back then as it is today? Have any of you had any doctor tell you anything like what mine told me? Hope to here from all of you. All I am trying to do is find out from others if there is anything to this.

This is talked about in another recent thread ("Question on smallpox vaccine" I think) but I don't think anyone who frequents this board has much info about it. You have access to the same info the rest of us do through search engines, but I haven't been able to get much solid info about it and most of what I did find wasn't consistent. I guess if I wanted to devote a couple of hours hunting around I could dig something up but I don't really have that kind of time.

If you come up with anything, I hope you'll come back and post it. It seems there might be something there but the reports are conflicting and not very in-depth where it applies to herpes.
