Has anyone had success with this drug? My doc just switched me from perscription prilosec to this. The fact that its a pill vs a capsule has me wondering?

Re: Aciphex

Aciphex is the first medicine I was given. Double dosage. It worked or helped for awhile but then it stopped after a month or so. Then I was switched to various other medicines. Still none are working.

Re: Aciphex

My husband has been taking this for about two years. He does not have any problems with acid reflux now. He takes it in the morning. First thing.

Re: Aciphex

I was fine on Aciphex, it was the first thing I had that helped. I was switched to Nexium, which I think helps a little more, but really, Aciphex was just about the same.

Re: Aciphex

I was on protonix for awhile, but also on so many other meds for different reasons that I could not differentiate what caused adverse side effects.

I stopped the protonix for awhile, then tried aciphex. I don't have a problem with it, but it's hard to tell if it's better than the protonix or not.

Then again, I don't have a lot of symptoms that people with acid reflux seem to have which has me puzzled.

I rarely get heartburn. The main thing was throwing up, especially whenI just bent over, and like something was in my throat that was uncomfortable, acidic taste in my mouth, and spitting up when I burped.

I just went to a new GI Dr. and she felt based on my history that and my tests that I did have a big hiatal hernia which probably caused the throwing up but also some kind of post (something) because when this first began, I was at the tail end of a very bad flu, and I thought it went down to my stomach which is usually where it ends, only it kept on going.
