ANyone heard of this

Hi everyone. My doctor put me on Pulimcort and when I went to go pick it up was surprised that I wasn't to put it in my nebulizer but was instructed to mix it with Splenda and drink it.. Has anyone heard of this? I just thought it was unusual and would have thought I would put it in my nebulizer like I do the Performist.

I have never heard of Pulmicort you actually ingest. What does your pulmicort package look like and what does it say?

Re: ANyone heard of this

the packaging looks like little pods with liquid inside and on the box it shows that it should be used in the nebulizer so I was very confused. I confirmed with the pharmacist who said he never heard of it either. I am going to the doc today to get my allergy shots so I will ask while I am at the office. It's really strange sure doesn't taste very good LOL. I mix it with 4 splenda then ingest it I cannot drink anything for 30 minutes after but have to rinse out just like with an inhaled steroid.

Re: ANyone heard of this

It turns out it was a mistake. I asked the doc today who was very confused when I told him the directions. Apparently the nurse chose the wrong instructions. There is an indication to use pulimcort as a suspension but not for asthma it's for a diesease called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I am relieved it was resolved and I don;t have to drink it... YUCK!!! LOL
