Heat Exhaustion?

Hi,

I've been a waffling type 2 secondary diabetic for many years now that finally went full blown about a year ago. I'll probably be starting lantus within the next couple months cause diet has only been partially effective and the meds are contraindicated for various reasons but for now I'm living with sugar's ranging from about 90 to an occassional 300+.

Anyhow, I'm an active person. I love the outdoors and have always loved the heat of the summer and have never had problems like this. In fact, I've always been able to tolerate temps much higher than most people without a lick of trouble. Some people have claimed that I'm part reptile. This year I've suffered 3 probably shoulda gone to the hospital events of heat exhaustion so far. It only takes about 30 to 60 minutes on a hot day and my temp shoots up to above 101, my bp shoots down to alarmingly low levels, I get sick to my stomach and I go down for a while until I cool off. No warning or anything and the sugar readings have been fairly normal when it happens. Like between 98 and 126.

I'm trying to figure out what on earth is going on. Does anyone else around here have the same problem with the heat? I'm getting scared to even go outside anymore.
