Post Acne finally gone!

I dealt with acne for THIRTY (yes, 30!) years. I totally know the emotional stuff that people go through with acne---the doc kept saying "you'll grow out of it" but I never did. Anyway, I've tried everything from putting egg on my face to every medication available, to birth control pills, etc. I finally found a wonderful doctor who put me on thyroid medication even though my tests were within the normal range. Acne, fatigue, feeling cold, sometimes weight problems are all symptoms of low thyroid. For the very first time in my life, the acne is gone! I have been on this for about one year; it took a few months to adjust but I sure do feel better, and feel better about myself because I'm not trying to constantly hide my face. I just wanted share this info hoping that it may save someone many years of suffering needlessly!

what did they put you on?
That could be my case. Not even 6 months of accutane helped.

Ebby,
Thank you for sharing that info- I think it may be valid for me. Iam 20 and my Mom has an under active throid in which she takes meds every day for. I am always cold and Mom is over weight. They tested me for a thyroid problem and nothing showed up. What should I do? Did accutane not work for you?

I'm on Armour Thyroid which is very inexpensive and the most natural---the doc had to start me out on a very low dose so that I didn't get any side effects and work my way up slowly. No, Accutane did not work. I would suggest you find a dr. in your area that also practices some alternative procedures. I found my doc on a website about alternative thyroid procedures written by another dr. I'll look up his name and post it later
