Stage Three

I was just diagnosed with stage three parkinson's disease. I was shocked; Ionly hace had a tremor since Nov 2007 and toe cramping since a year ago, both on my right side. I was slowly but i have had arthritis since 2001 in both knees, very bad. I was prescribed requip 1mg three times a day and stalevo 50 3X. I wpu;d appreciate your input.
Needless to say I am devastated!

Re: Stage Three

Hi glama9,
You must have had PD for 10 years or more (?), to be in stage 3. Did your symptoms
accelerate during the last cou[ple of years ? Mine seem to be getting worse at a faster
rate. I am between stage 3 to 4. I don't think Dr.'s use staging much anymore. My earliest symptom was that my little "pinkey" on my left hand dragged, and an ink pen never felt right while writing. It seemed to not role properly or to be stuck at the end. So, I spent a lot of effort complaining and searching for the "right" pen!!

So the results of the large clinical study (ADAGIO), to investigate the impact of Azilect on slowing the progression of PD will be announced today. If it shows that Azilect does slow the progression of PD it will be a major breakthrough for PD.

Take care
John g
