Unhappy GERD and antibiotics question

I recently stopped a week-long dose of antibiotics (last Thursday was my last dose). How long do you think I should give my stomach to recover from it? Antibiotics always bothers my reflux but I don't remember the recovery time being this long...TIA!

Re: GERD and antibiotics question

I'm always told to take the OTC stuff that starts with an A like Acodifus (sp) when taking antibitocs. It's supposed to keep the good bacteria. Of course, I forget it have the time. Takes me about a week to recover and the antibiotics cause me to have D most of the time. I worry about being on antibiotics too often.

Re: GERD and antibiotics question

thanks for your response. I did have issues with D...I'm glad I'm not alone! My concern is that I still am in a lot of pain and can feel the acid in my throat...I've already upped my protonix to twice a day (which my doctor already said was ok) and that doesn't seem to help. OTC helps take the edge off a little but that's about it...Thanks for your help!
