Unhappy Veteran Obesity Related to War Injury

We recently lost a family member to sudden heart attack. He was a Vietnam Veteran who was seriously injured in service and therefore unable to regularly excercise hence leading to obesity both of which are major causes of heart attacks. I am seeking some factual information/publications/articles/journals/websites that report on the link between war related injury and obesity and heart disease. Would also like to hear from anyone in the same situation. Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Just trying to get some closure on this great loss. Thank you.
