Post How to help overweight husband?

Any advice on how I can help my husband lose weight? He's been overweight for as long as I've known him and he's slowly getting bigger and bigger. I know he's trying to lose weight, but he just can't seem to resist periodically eating a whole large pizza or a big bag of Butterfinger bars. I try to keep healthy food around the house and fix healthy meals that he likes, but it doesn't seem to help. He also resists any kind of exercise. I'm really concerned because diabetes runs in his family and he's up to 350 pounds (at age 25). I don't want to give him a guilt trip or be a nagging wife or make him angry. What can I do to help him? Thanks!

He's not going to lose weight until HE wants to. It's nearly an impossible task when someone wants to lose weight very badly. In his case, where he doesn't want to do it at all, it's hopeless.

All you can control is what you eat. If you're in charge of all food purchasing, then don't buy those high calorie foods. If they're not there, he can't eat them unless he gets in the car and goes and buys them.

You could tell him of your concerns for his health. He might be receptive to your help if presented in a kind and loving way. Good luck
