I know how it is to be addicted to carbs. The best way that I have found to beat a carb addiction is to go cold turkey, which is what you would do on the induction phase of the Atkins' diet. I recommend that you make sure that you eat 5-6 small meals per day to stabilize your blood sugar, which will help to reduce your cravings for simple sugars. You may want to drink a protein shake in place of 2-4 of the meals if you find it too time consuming. Also, take a good multivitamin/mineral supplement which should contain Chromium Picolinate to level off blood glucose levels. Furthermore, try to drink at least a gallon of water per day. A gallon may sound like a lot, yet once you drink lots of water your thirst returns and you crave it more. If you do those things you be successful.

Also, any sweets that you have in your house or at work you may want to give away. It is important to completely remove all sweets and simple carbs (white flour, bread, pasta, etc.)from your diet because it is the sugars that are making you crave more sugar. Remember, not even one small bite of the wrong food.

Let us know how you are doing, BigTex.

I will start it with you, however I have been on it now about 1 and half week, but I ate candy one day so I guess it is back to the beginning for me. I also ordered and just recieved today Lipovarin, they say it helps speed up the metabolism and stop those cravings. I start on that tomorrow

I'm in ! I have been on atkins off and on, low carbing for a few years. But battling depression and anxiety I have not been able to stay focused or eat right. My meds have made me gain weight and crave more carbs now than ever. I could use all the motivation I can get, thanks for the pointers too! Keep in touch !
