Dear Eeyore II and BJ25
Hi I just got your queeries today as I've worked all weekend long! twelve hour shifts! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif. Well I guess I'll jump right in and, hopefully answer all your questions. I had the gastric RNY done on Nov.11/02 and it was the best decision of my life!!!,
no regrets. It has been 3 months since surgery and I've lost a total of 75lbs and a total of 45" off my body. I feel like a brand new person that doesn't have to live with constant agonizing pain!! The surgery went well with one minor complication of my suture line, but that healed quickly. I can eat regular food as long as it isn't high in fat or full of sugar, because I do get dumping syndrome .
It has made a dramatic impact in my life with my kids
they get so excited because I can do things now and I don't have to ask them to do things for me or get stuff for me. I have recently joined the gym because I now have alot of loose skin and am hoping to tone some of it while I lose the weight. I know you wondered if my insurance covered this procedure! well it did but I think that is due to the fact that I live in Canada. I understand that americans don't have the same type of health care that we do. which is a total shame! I had surgery in Toronto, I didn't pay for anything! everything including the panulectomy(tummy tuck) that I will need when I have reached my desired weight will be covered. I hope I have been able to provide you with some insight into your questions! and if not I am truly sorry. I hope your upcoming surgery goes as smoothly for you as it did for me! anymore questions just post them on the board, I'll be glad to lend my support. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Good luck to all!
