Post High Protein & Colon Cancer

I heard today that low carbohydrate, high protein diets cause an increased risk of colon cancer in women. Do any of you know anything about this? I can see where it could be possible, since it causes constipation in some. Any insight? Thanks!

Usually lack of carbs correlate with lack of fibers in a diet. This can increase risk of having colon cancer in a long run. I don't think gender has anything to do with the risk. Also bigger amount of red meat in a diet can further increase this risk.

I'm using a low carb diet my self at the moment. My plan losing few kilos of fat and then switch back to my regular "more fibers and carbs diet".

I think it's more or less safe to use low carbs diet for few weeks now and then, but I would never use it as "a life style".

If you follow the research the high protein diets do not cause an increased risk of colon cancer. Refined carbohydrates and processed foods, and smoking increase the risk of colon cancer.
