Post Polychondritis treatment?

Greetings, my friends mom was diagnosed with RP a couple of years ago. I just found the RP information area and was reading about treatments. Has anybody heard of chemo being used for treating this? They've been putting her thru chemo and the chemo has now caused cancer, so has really only made things worse. I'm just wondering how normal this or if its really so rare, there is no accepted method of treating this disease. Thanks.
