What kind of herbal medicines have you tried?
Are you taking vitamins (B, C, etc)?
I was sick for 6 months..I couldn't imagine 5 years.
Is that continous or with relapses?

Hi, I had a pretty bad case of mono about 2 1/2 years ago. I was very sick for about a year, could barely get out of bed, had no energy, little appetite, swollen neck glands, repeated strep throat, broncho pneumonia & overall weakness. I know what you have been going through. Mono & Epstein Barr literally take over your life. I had to completely slow down all of my activites once I got over the mono. Even though I have gotten over the mono, Istill get a lot of colds, tend to get rundown easy & do not feel as strong as I used to be. I believe it took a toll on my immune system as well. 2 years ago, I saw the head of the infectious disease dept at the Mayo Clinique in Jackson*****, FL & he said that even though the mono leaves your body, a person will usually feel weak for a few years after cuz their immune system needs to recover. I did a lot of praying during the year I was ill & took a multivitamin/ mineral & antioxidant pill each day. I also ate a lot of fruits & veggies to boost my immune system & would squeeze lemons & limes everyday for extra vitamin c. You will always have to watch your level of activity after having mono. I dont over do it at all so I won't get run down. I also stay away from alcohol, any type of drugs or smoking.

Hi, I understand so much in wanting to find somthing that helps. I have epstein barr, my-self along with hashimoto's a thyroid disease. Being run down is a real pain. For the first time in about 4-years. I am feeling good. I am seeing a chiropractor who practices kiniesology and also prescribes supplements from standard process inc. Right now he has me on a product called immunplex. It is actually a food supplement. Only doctors who are natural or chiropractors carry this. It helps build your immune system. To kill the viruses. I have been through 6-doctors the past year and this is the only one who has helped me. ( The natural doc. ) I can wake up in the morning, and not have to take naps, cleaning my house and re-organzing what has fallen apart the past 4-years of my life. It might be worth a try. Amigamia P.S.
