Question Anyone with PCOS and no men. cycle?

I'm a little confused about the whole progesterone thing. I'm supposed to take 10 days of progesterone to induce a cycle. Approx. 2 days after, you should start to bleed. I on the other hand don't. Sometimes I can go as long as 9 days before starting. When I ask the pharmacist about it, she says she's never ever heard of this before. Has anyone else been through this as well? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif

I have gone as long as 7 or 8 days. I think those of us who produce very very little progesterone on our own it just takes longer for our bodies to get that kick start on the ol' AF. My doc put me on a diabetic diet adn that has really helped AF become more regular.

Hope this helps,

TAZ

I've gone as long as 3 weeks before bleeding after 10 days of provera. When my gyn put me on glucophage, I immediately started getting regular cycles (28-30 days).

Before the glucophage, I could go months without a period, although my gyn tried to make sure I took the provera (progesterone) every 3 months.

It took me about 7-8 days after taking Provera to finally get my period. I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own, without BP pills or medical intervention I can go years w/o ever having a period.

Thanks very much guys. It makes you feel more normal when you hear of others sharing similar experiences.
BTW, I'm also on glucophage, so far the only effect it's having for me is nausea and diarrea Yuck!
