Post Another PCOS question....

My diagnosis is PCOS. I've had it for about 10 years. I got pregnant with twins after some ART that included Dexamethasone, Clomid, Follistim and a HCG trigger. Now I'm working for another baby, but hasn't been as easy. I take the Clomid, (refuse the FOllistim, as I don't want multiples again) and I get a trigger shot. I'm also taking 1500 of Glucophage XR. My insulin levels haven't really come down much with that drug, though, and I wonder if that has something to do with me not getting pregnant as fast as I'd anticipated. I think I've been through 3-4 cycles where I ovulated, but no implant. My practitioner couldn't tell me whether or not an elevated insulin level might inhibit implantation.... Does anyone here know? Would it be worth it to find a different insulin suppressor, or going to 2000 mg? I'm on a timeline here, getting awfully close to 34.

Would appreciate any insight.

I wish I could answer that, but I wanted to chime in to say that that is a great question. I have been on clomid also (and i have pcos) and my insulin levels are high. I haven't started glucophage, but it looks like that is where we are going next. Good luck to you and keep me updated on your progress, as we are in the same situation and could probably use any information possible!
