Question Bladder infections

About two years ago, i started to get bladder infections all the time. They went away for about one year, and now i think they are comming back. Is this an early sign of kidney trouble?

Hi,

I hope that i can be of some help to you! I myself have suffered from bladder infections, the first started over three years ago! At first the infections were only every few months and then soon they were every week, as i was going to the doctor so frequently they put me on perminant antibiotics and decided to do some tests. However my bladder infections were often accompanied by pain in my side and back (kidneys). If you feel that your symptoms are similar then i would suggest that you go to see your doctor, ant-biotics will help and if the infections keep recurring then they will be able to do some tests, also you may find that the infections result from something, for example alchoal, sexual intercourse, not drinking enough etc. Also cistitus remedies can be helpful short term, i always used to carry one with me in case i had any problems when i was out as i found that normal pain killers didn't do the trick!

Hope you feel better soon, and also i hope i've help you in some way.

Tazmin.

p.s i have had my kidney removed now as it turned out my kidney had failed, i'm sure this will not be the case for you, but you can see that it can be important to get these things checked out!

Re: Bladder infections

I used to get cystitis alot when I was young. They called it Honeymoon Cystitis because it was caused by sexual intercourse...and the bacteria that comes with it. You need antibiotics. But a Dr told me that if you take calcium citrate every day, that that will discourage the bacteria from clinging to the bladder wall. It worked for me. Citracal makes one that I buy at the grocery store. It can't be just any calcium, has to be calcium citrate. Good Luck.
But you must see a doctor and get antibiotics for cystitis or it could go to your kidney and then you have bigger problems.
