ovulation predictor test?

Me and my husband have been trying to conceive a baby for the past 3 months, and everytime we think that I am pregnant the results come back negitive. We would like to know what we should do and if a ovulation predictor test would help because my periods are irregular.

Re: ovulation predictor test?

The OPK along with checking your CM will really help. At least so you'll know the general time you're ovulating. It's best to BD frequently when you've got EWCM. You can BBT temperature chart as well, but it's probably not worth the effort. I like the drugstore brand OPKs that come 7 to a pack. You could also try the more expensive fertility monitors that you use every day. I've heard good things about them, but never tried.

It can just take a while, so just try to stay positive.

Re: ovulation predictor test?

You could waste a lot of money with OPKs simply because your cycles are irregular. I would first get a copy of the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility.
Charting isnt a waste of time to be all honest. It takes less than 5 minutes of your morning. It can be extremely helpful if after a a year of ttc and you arent pregnant you can take your charts to your dr to let them look them over and see how your cycles are.
You should also know that opks dont work for everyone. I happen to be one of those people even though I used them the month I got pregnant with my second DS. My chart showed I Oed but the opks never showed the LH surge to indict impeding O.
One last thing 3 months may seem like a long time to be ttc but once you read the book I mentioned you will see that it isnt that long. Keep in mind most couples with no known issues can take up to a year to get pregnant.
