Question Elevated ALT

I have had two blood test results come back with an elevated ALT (54, 62), these test were done three weeks apart. I was drinking before the blood was drawn both times. My Dr. told me to absatin for the second draw, however I did not. Can alchohol increase the ALT that much ? All other values were normal, LDL HDL very good. Please advise.
